(Adele is a national treasure, you cannot convince me otherwise)
So, here I am again. Blogging is actually helping me with my anxiety surrounding my daily word count goals (this counts, right?) as it makes me feel like I am still getting something accomplished as a self-proclaimed writer.
I have deadlines I set for myself that continue to breath on my shoulder, like deadlines are supposed to do, and those seem to be helping. I can bang out 388 words a day... hopefully. If you're not subscribed to my newsletter (which if you're reading this and not reading that, you're really missing out! My best work shines there!) then you can hear it here that I am aiming to publish my first book in December!
If you are a fellow writer - either by trade or by hobby - and looking for some useful tools, I highly recommend ProWritingAid for grammar/writing style, and Scrivener for formatting and writing. I was doing everything the hard way until I stumbled my way into these programs, and now I sit here wondering if I just like to make life hard for myself for comedic content.
If you would like to break into the self-publishing realm but not ready to go full-blown book publishing, I also recommend getting on to Amazon's Kindle Vella. I don't think I would have ever built up the courage to publish this story without putting it on Vella. Not only have I received some great feedback from readers, I have also found an amazing community of writers in all walks of life. There are so many interesting and wonderful people I've met and opportunities I have been given, and those would not have been possible if I never mustered up the courage to post that first episode.
So Vella community... thank you. And thank you readers who have taken a chance on this hot mess, dumpster fire flying down a hill into a scrapyard. You're the best.
